We're All In It Together: Coronavirus

How Coronavirus is affecting you and MAGNIV

We need to be honest; no one can predict the future. No one knows what will happen next week, let alone next year. We can guess, but things are changing, fast.

Here’s our advice for customers looking to book MAGNIV Photomagnets for their upcoming events.

If you’ve already booked your event with MAGNIV, this doesn’t apply; please be in touch with your booking manager should you consider postponing or cancelling.

Events in June-August 2020 – Let’s Be Honest, No One Knows

No one knows what will be happening this summer… here are the different scenarios and our policies.

Your Event Is Cancelled Due to a Ban on Mass Gatherings

Of course, this situation is outside of your control and as such, we will be issuing full refunds or offering free postponements.

If you postpone to a weekday, we will be offering 10% off the original price, to help keep weekends free in our expected busier periods. This excludes December, when our weekdays are busier with Christmas parties.

You Decide To Postpone Due To Coronavirus Concerns

If events are allowed to continue, but you decide to postpone your event, we will amend your booking free-of-charge, providing you give us 3-weeks (21 days) of notice.

You Decide To Cancel Due To Coronavirus Concerns

Should you decide to cancel your event with 4-weeks (28 days) of notice or more, we will issue a full refund minus a £75 administration fee or 15% off the total price - whichever is less. Should you decide to cancel your event with less than 4-weeks (28 days) of notice, normal conditions apply.

Events in October-December 2020 – Proceed as Normal, We’re Flexible

If you were planning an event in October – December 2020 with us, now is the time we’d be confirming your event anyway.

  • If you’re no longer holding your event or no longer interested in photomagnets, please let me know so I can release your date to make way for postponements.

  • For those hoping to continue with your event, but concerned about making payments lest you be forced to cancel later on, we’re relaxing the cancellation policy for this period. For October-December 2020 events only, booked and paid for in March and April 2020 only, we will be accepting cancellations should the pandemic continue, up to 6 weeks before your event.

Similarly, we will accept postponements with up to 3 weeks’ notice, free of charge, provided we are available for your new date. If we are unavailable for your new date, we will issue a complete refund.

  • We’re offering 10% off for anyone who moves their event from a weekend to a weekday, as we anticipate this period will fill up quickly.

Events in 2021 – Be In Touch

Based on current information, this should all be over by 2021 and as such many people with cancelled events in 2020 are rescheduling for next year. I expect it will be particularly busy and need your help to prepare.

This isn’t to cause a scare or panic buy – we will make sure we can take every booking in 2021, we just need to plan for numbers. So if you’ve inquired with us for 2021, although it’s quite far away, please reach out and let us know if you’re still planning on booking MAGNIV or no longer wish to go ahead.

That way, we’ll be able to clear the diary of pencil marks and accept postponements; reserve your date if you’ve already inquired and book enough staff ready for the peak periods.

Staying In Business

Though there’s no denying our business has been affected by the pandemic, we’re in the fortunate position to have minimal overheads and have prepared contingencies to ensure that we weather this storm. We’re still going to be standing by the end, without a doubt.

That said, we know many other events businesses who are struggling as the nature of what they provide means greater overheads. On a personal level, I’d ask you to be sympathetic with businesses who are doing everything they can to continue delivering during this difficult time.

Supporting Our Staff

As you know, our photographers are all self-employed, working with us on dates they’ve got free. They’re going to be hit a lot harder than the business as a whole and we’re doing everything we can to support them.

Family photoshoots are a great, coronavirus-safe way, to spend time with the family! If you’re interested in a family photoshoot, please send us an email and we will forward it directly to our team of photographers.

Similarly, if you’re looking for product photography; architecture/property photography; corporate branding photography or other non-event photography, please be in touch and we will put you in direct contact with the right photographer.

Please note, though it is our pleasure to make the introduction, you’ll be dealing with the photographer and this won’t constitute a MAGNIV booking.

Should the pandemic continue through the summer, we’ll be supporting our photographers with further business development training, helping them grow their business into 2021.
