Noah's Bar Mitzvah - 13 Jan

Now listen, our thing is weddings. We just all love the magic in the air on the day of a wedding and how happy everyone is. But Noah’s Bar Mitzvah Party was a celebration like no other and we just had to blog about it - these guys know how to have a blast!

The party was at Kinloss Synagogue, in Finchley - we gig there quite often. We’re back there next week! It was beautifully lit up and dressed in blue and black by Simon Cowen, with stunning flowers by Miri Moses and Table Centrepieces by Table Dressers. We’ve never seen it like that - it was simply incredible!

Israeli singer Udi Ullman and the Asaf Flumendorf band raised the roof and broke the dance floor all night long. If you didn’t already know, Asaf is the legend behind Muzika and can be found at a diffferent party every night, somewhere across the world.

Udi Ullman sure knows how to entertain a crowd!

Yeah, Asaf is using THREE keyboard at once - and backing singing!

They played an incredible mix of music, starting off with traditional Jewish music for dancing, followed up with instrumental covers of some singalong classics in between courses, with superstar musicians Omri (guitar) and Bar (electric violin) getting down on the dance floor and up on the tables with all the guests.

Omri and Bar joined the crowds by their tables… soon everyone was on their chairs and going crazy!

Whilst Noam might be a little bit stuck behind the drum kit, that doesn’t stop him rocking like no other!

They were joined by Jonathan and if there was anyone who still hadn’t joined the dance floor… well now they did. The atmosphere was simply electric - our photographers had to stand on chairs and the stage, using long “zoom” lenses to get photos (think paparazzi, long lenses allow you to get close up pictures from far away) of people having fun.

The evening was photographed by Peter Lane, who moved through the crowd unnoticed (a bit like a ninja) capturing moments without interrupting them.

You might not notice Peter at work whilst you’re in the moment… but you’ll see yourself in the photographs!

DJ Johnny Bluestone took over for an incredible set, before the band came back on to close the night with some more, traditional Israeli singalong classics. The whole night was smoothly run by Michelle Aminoff of MA Events.

From the MAGNIV side we had Head of Photography Amanda Ward leading the team with technical assistants Toby and Lauren. I was in town also for the weekend so swung by to help out for a few hours and another of our technical assistants, Matty, who is also a videographer, came by to get some footage of us in action. All-in-all, a great team for a great night!

Omri and Noam joined Amanda and myself (Dror) for a cheeky photo-magnet - thanks Lauren for taking the picture!

And then Omri nicked the camera as well!
